Analysis of the Odds Board

The Favorites: Texas and Georgia sit atop the board, and for good reason. The Longhorns feature Heisman favorite Arch Manning at quarterback, while Georgia just won the 2025 SEC Championship with a 28-7 victory over Alabama. Texas joined the SEC in 2024 and has never claimed an SEC football title, while Georgia has won three of the last four conference crowns.

Wild West: The next two teams on the board—Texas A&M and Alabama—hail from what was once the Western division, before the SEC eliminated divisions. Both the Aggies and the Tide finished 2025 with 7-1 conference records. Texas A&M was led by quarterback Marcel Reed, who was in the Heisman conversation last season. Alabama’s starting QB Ty Simpson, who guided the Tide to an SEC title game appearance in 2025, was selected 13th overall in the 2026 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams. Texas A&M has never won an SEC title since joining in 2012, while Alabama has seven conference championships since 2014.
