“Polina plans to open the season on May 22 in Sochi,” Shulgin told TASS.
The 26-year-old Knoroz holds the fourth-best result in the world this season and the second-best in Europe. At the Russian Winter tournament in Moscow in February, she cleared 4.80 meters. Only American Hanna Moll has jumped higher with the pole in 2026, reaching 4.88 meters.
Knoroz has won the Russian Summer Championships four times and the Winter Championships three times. She is also the winner of a Diamond League event in 2021.
